DESCRIPTION OF INSTITUTION

Bank of Monticello is a state-chartered, nonmember bank headquartered in Monticello, Georgia. The bank operates one full-service office and offers a variety of loan and deposit products primarily to individuals and small businesses within its assessment area.

DESCRIPTION OF ASSESSMENT AREA

The assessment area consists of Jasper County, Georgia. The area is located within the Atlanta–Sandy Springs–Roswell, GA Metropolitan Statistical Area.

SCOPE OF EVALUATION

General Information

This evaluation covers the period from October 31, 2016, to August 1, 2022. Examiners used the Interagency Small Institution Examination Procedures to evaluate the bank’s CRA performance.

Activities Reviewed

Examiners reviewed home mortgage and small business loans to assess lending performance. These loans represent the bank’s major product lines.

CONCLUSIONS ON PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

Lending Test

Bank of Monticello demonstrated satisfactory performance under the Lending Test. The loan-to-deposit ratio, assessment area concentration, geographic distribution, and borrower profile performance support this conclusion.

DISCRIMINATORY OR OTHER ILLEGAL CREDIT PRACTICES REVIEW

Examiners reviewed the bank’s compliance with applicable fair lending laws, including the Fair Housing Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. No violations were identified.
